The article begins by dealing with the recalcitrance of the Court of Justice of Rondônia to recognize the diffuse or collective environmental moral damage resulting from land grabbing and deforestation of the Amazon Rainforest inside the Jaci-Paraná Extractive Reserve. Afterwards, it examines how the environmental civil liability theme evolved in doctrine and in the jurisprudence of the Superior Court of Justice and, in the end, it also narrates other vicissitudes experienced by the aforementioned conservation unit, such as the disaffection of most of its area by the State Complementary Law n. 1089, of 05.20.2021.
