Abstract

This article aims to examine the irreplaceable competencies of the human legal text reviewer, the ethical and technical limits of revisional intervention, and the strategic role of this professional as a mediator between technical-legal knowledge and civic communication in a context of increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI). The research adopts a theoretical-essayistic approach of qualitative bibliographic nature, drawing on contributions from applied linguistics, text revision theory, and philosophy of law. It is demonstrated that large language models (LLMs) have limited capacity to replace the human reviewer in the discursive, ethical, and institutional dimensions of legal revision, and that the plain language imperative demands specialized formation that no algorithm can provide. It is concluded that AI reconfigures, without eliminating, the revisional function, rendering it more complex and strategic, while a research agenda is proposed for the consolidation of the field.
