Conference Proceedings Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

Author Guidelines

The works will be sent for evaluation by the Editorial Board of the Emeron Journal and must be original and unpublished. They may not be submitted simultaneously to another journal and/or magazine. By submitting the originals, the author(s) assign(s) the publication rights to the School of Magistrates of the State of Rondônia (Emeron), in both printed and electronic versions.

The Editorial Board reserves the right to make changes to the originals in order to maintain the homogeneity and quality of the publication, while respecting the style and opinions of the authors. Proofs will not be sent to the authors.


Articles published in Emeron journals may be reprinted, in whole or in part, provided that the original source of publication is mentioned. Emeron is not responsible for and does not endorse the opinions expressed by the authors of the articles. Thus, it should be noted that the opinions and concepts expressed in the work are the sole and exclusive responsibility of their authors. The Emeron Editorial Board establishes the following editorial standards for the publication of articles.

1. OBJECTIVE AND TARGET AUDIENCE

1.1. Publication of scientific articles in the Emeron Journal.

1.2. The selection process is open to magistrates and civil servants of the Judiciary of the State of Rondônia, master's students of the Professional Master's Programme in Human Rights and Justice Development - DHJUS (including graduates), students of Lato Sensu Postgraduate courses offered by Emeron (including graduates), Cepep scholarship holders, and the academic and legal community in general.

3. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

3.1. Articles must be preceded by a title page containing: the title of the work in Portuguese (centred and highlighted in bold); the title of the work in English (centred and highlighted in bold); author's name, email address, and a brief CV of no more than three lines, including main academic titles and/or main activity; abstract in Portuguese, followed by keywords (maximum of five); abstract in English, followed by keywords.

3.1.1. Authors must submit to the Editorial Board (in the same submission) a Text Revision Statement – Portuguese/English Correction (if in this language) signed by a professional with a degree in Language Arts or who works as a Proofreader (as evidenced in their Lattes Curriculum) – template available on the Emeron website (TEXT REVIEW STATEMENT).

3.2. The abstract shall follow the guidelines of ABNT NBR 6028:2021 (Brazilian Standard of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards). It should include four parts in its structure: subject (what it is about); objective (what it aims to achieve); method (type of research or textual structure); conclusion (results achieved). It should be no more than 10 lines long and written in a single paragraph, following grammatical punctuation rules.

3.3. Submitted texts must be presented as follows:

a) A4 paper size;

b) Between 15 (minimum) and 25 (maximum) pages, including bibliographical references;

c) Times New Roman font - size 12;

d) 1.5 line spacing;

e) Top and left margins of 3.0 cm; bottom and right margins of 2.0 cm;

f) Structured text with introduction, development, conclusion and references to the sources consulted, whereby the introduction should contain the justification and objectives of the work, emphasising the relevance of the topic investigated; the development will cover the discussion and/or analysis of the hypotheses raised, based on the appropriate bibliography; the conclusion should contain the response to the proposed objectives; the numbering of topics should be progressive, identified with Arabic numerals, without a full stop, with two spaces before the topic title (Example: 2) and subsections should have a full stop (Example: 2.1);

g) Any emphasis in the text should be made using italics. Bold or underlining should not be used. Quotations from other authors containing up to three lines should be placed in quotation marks in the body of the text, without the use of italics. Long quotations should appear in a separate paragraph, indented 4.0 cm, font size 10, without quotation marks, in accordance with ABNT NBR 10520:2023 (Quotations in documents) guidelines, and should be, for example, (Silva, 2020) or (Silva, 2020, p. 10). Legislative or jurisprudential references must contain all the data necessary for their proper identification and location. In citations from Internet sites, the date of access must be expressly indicated in the following format: Accessed on: 7 Aug. 2017.

h) Quotations in foreign languages must be translated.

i) Footnotes on each page shall only be used to present concepts and explanations that cannot be included in the body of the text.

j) Textual references shall be made in accordance with ABNT NBR 6023:2025. They must be cited in author/date format, for example, (Silva, 2020) or (Silva, 2020, p. 10) in the main body of the text. Only sources cited in the text should appear at the end of the article under the heading References (do not put in footnotes).

3.4. Papers that do not meet these requirements will be returned. Emeron will not be responsible for and will not correct, adapt or supplement the papers, such as inserting abstracts or keywords, which are the sole responsibility of the author of the article.
3.5. Once the paper has been received by the Editor of the Emeron Journal, the author will be notified of its receipt.

3.6. After verification of compliance with the Editorial Policy of the Emeron Journal, the work will be sent for preliminary analysis by the Editorial Committee to verify its suitability for the editorial line. After this evaluation, all elements that allow the identification of the authorship will be removed and it will be made available for examination by an anonymous reviewer, appointed by the Editor of the Emeron Journal, for qualitative evaluation of its form and content through the Double blind peer review system.

3.7. The selection of works for publication is the responsibility of the Editorial Board and will be made based on the analysis of technical opinions. Works received for analysis and approved will not be returned to the authors.

3.7.1 The Editor will decide whether or not to publish the article.

3.8. The decisions of the Editorial Board shall not be subject to appeal or challenge at any stage of the process.

4. EVALUATION CRITERIA

4.1. Articles shall have a maximum of two authors. No more than one article per author/co-author shall be published in the same issue of the journal.

4.2. The originality of the article (not published in print or electronic media, such as blogs, newspapers, academic or specialised journals, widely circulated periodicals, and not yet disclosed by the press or pending publication);

4.3. Relevance and timeliness of the topic in line with the Editorial Policy of Emeron Journal;

4.4. Clarity and coherence of the article;

4.5. Degree of Qualification;

4.6. Emeron Journal will not publish bibliographic reviews of dissertations and theses or experience reports;

4.7. All articles to be published will undergo a plagiarism detection system;

4.8. Articles that do not meet the criteria governing the submission and publication rules defined above will be excluded.

5. FINAL PROVISIONS

5.1. Papers that do not meet any of the publication standards will be rejected.

5.2. Any cases not covered herein will be resolved by the Editorial Board.

The names and addresses provided in this magazine will be used exclusively for the services provided by this publication and will not be made available for other purposes or to third parties.

t is important to note that, under the LGPD, there is no right to erase data processed on legal grounds other than consent, unless the data is unnecessary, excessive or processed in breach of the law.

How the data subject can exercise their rights

To ensure that the user who wishes to exercise their rights is, in fact, the data subject of the personal data covered by the request, we may request documents or other information that may assist in their correct identification, in order to safeguard our rights and the rights of third parties. However, this will only be done if absolutely necessary, and the applicant will receive all related information.

Security measures in the processing of personal data

We employ technical and organisational measures to protect personal data from unauthorised access and situations that could lead to the destruction, loss or alteration of such data.

The measures we use take into account the nature of the data, the context and purpose of the processing, the risks that a possible breach would pose to the rights and freedoms of the user, and the standards currently used in the market by companies such as ours.

Among the security measures we have adopted, we highlight the following:

  • Password storage using cryptographic hashes;
  • Database access restrictions;
  • Monitoring physical access to servers.

Even though we do everything in our power to prevent security incidents, it is possible that there may be problems caused exclusively by third parties, such as hacker or cracker attacks, or even cases of exclusive user fault, which occurs, for example, when users themselves transfer their data to third parties. Thus, although we are generally responsible for the personal data we process, we are exempt from liability in the event of an exceptional situation such as this, over which we have no control.

In any case, in the event of any type of security incident that could generate significant risk or damage to any of our users, we will notify those affected and the National Data Protection Authority of the incident, in accordance with the provisions of the Personal Data Protection Act.

Complaint to a supervisory authority

Without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy, personal data subjects who feel they have been harmed in any way may lodge a complaint with the National Data Protection Authority.

Changes to this policy

We reserve the right to modify these regulations at any time, especially to adapt them to any changes made to our website, whether by making new features available or by deleting or modifying existing ones.

Whenever there is a change, our users will be notified of it.
