Revista da Emeron is a scientific journal published by the School of Magistrates of the State of Rondônia (Emeron/TJRO). It is dedicated to publishing original scholarly work in the fields of Law and related disciplines, with an emphasis on the legal, social, institutional, and environmental challenges facing the Amazon region. The journal targets magistrates, members of the justice system, researchers in Law and related fields, public administrators, and others interested in generating knowledge applicable to judicial practice and regional public policies.
The journal aims to establish itself as a reference point for socio-legal research on the Brazilian Amazon, expanding its presence in high-quality national and international indexing databases and maintaining an editorial schedule that meets their criteria. It covers the following thematic areas:
- Society and the Judiciary of the State of Rondônia: Rondônia’s society and the conflicts arising from its unique social interactions. The Judiciary of Rondônia as the state entity responsible for resolving these conflicts within the society it serves—and, through its actions, worthy of that society's trust;
- Judicial Administration, Technology, and the Development of Justice: The development and implementation of technological practices and tools—in both administrative and judicial spheres—to enhance access to justice, transparency, speed, inclusion, productivity, and the efficiency and effectiveness of judicial protection, as well as to foster consensual conflict resolution methods, institutional communication, and social and environmental responsibility;
- Law, Citizenship, and the Environment: The rule of law as a guarantor of citizenship—understood as the set of rights and duties binding each individual to the state. The promotion of human rights, which apply to all human beings regardless of citizenship, ethnicity, sex, gender, nationality, religion, or belief;
- Sustainability and Development in the Amazon: Economic development—essential as a mechanism for societal prosperity and well-being—must be conceived in a way that reconciles human needs with the preservation of nature, particularly in the Amazon, given its unique importance to regional and global ecosystems.
Priority will be given to original works that demonstrate theoretical or empirical novelty and the potential for impact within the relevant field of knowledge; these will be evaluated according to the peer-review process described on the journal's dedicated webpage.
Literature reviews based on dissertations or theses, accounts of experience lacking analytical treatment, and works falling outside the defined thematic areas will not be accepted, except upon a reasoned and publicly recorded decision by the Scientific Council, based on an explicit justification regarding their relevance to the journal's purpose.
