This article aims to explore the effects of climate change on mental health, highlighting concepts such as eco-anxiety and solastalgia, in addition to analyzing how vulnerable populations are more emotionally affected by environmental disasters. The reflections arise from analyzes of the literature that points to the growing incidence of psychological suffering linked to environmental degradation. The discussions address the historical and cultural relationship between mental health and the environment, emphasizing the importance of strengthening support networks, spaces for dialogue and public policies that promote social and environmental justice. The need for transformation in the training of mental health professionals is highlighted, who must be prepared to work in contexts of climate disasters, promoting actions that integrate psychological care, defense of Nature and social engagement. The main conclusions indicate that structural inequalities intensify the psychological effects of climate change, especially among marginalized groups, and that understanding these connections is fundamental for the development of resilience and emotional recovery strategies. To move forward, an interdisciplinary approach is recommended, with greater emphasis on environmental defense, professional training and the implementation of social justice policies, promoting a more sustainable and emotionally healthy future for everyone.
