Peer-reviewed process
Revista Bem Viver Compartilhando Saberes sets forth the following criteria in its editorial policy for the evaluation process: alignment with the journal’s focus and scope; compliance with the journal’s technical (ABNT), grammatical, and formal standards; relevance; content quality; textual coherence; and theoretical-methodological consistency.
After verification of formal and legal aspects (desk review) and pre-assessment/approval by the editor, each submitted manuscript will be forwarded to an editor-in-chief who, upon accepting it, will assign two external reviewers, independent of the editorial team and the publishing institution, to evaluate it using a standard form (double-blind peer review), ensuring anonymity throughout the evaluation process. In case of disagreement between reviewers, the manuscript will be sent to a third reviewer for a tie-break, without informing this reviewer of that condition.
The editors’ final decision will be shared with the author(s), along with the anonymous reviews (suggestions and/or critiques). When revisions are requested, authors must upload the revised manuscript to OJS, incorporating the reviewers’ suggestions, within a maximum of 30 days. Authors should log into the journal, click on “active submissions,” then select “upload file.” In the “comments” field of the article record, they must detail, point by point, the changes made.
Artistic and cultural works will be sent to two specialists (double-blind) to assess their relevance, cultural and artistic contribution, as well as other criteria defined in the Art & Culture section guidelines. In cases where the specificity of the work limits the number of specialists available for review, the decision may be made by a single reviewer or even by the journal’s editor-in-chief.
The revised file and the comments will be visible in the article record to the editors, who will then continue processing the submission in the editorial workflow via the OJS system.
