Judicial School of the State of Rondônia - Emeron
The Judicial School of the State of Rondônia (Emeron) was created in 1986 by the State Court of Justice, with the mission of training, updating, and improving judges and legal professionals, as well as training court staff to enhance judicial services.
Trajectory and achievements
The creation project involved five appellate judges (desembargadores) from Rondônia, with support from Justice Cristovam Daiello Moreira (RS), founder of the first judicial school in Brazil.
Key milestones:
- 1996: Launch of the first Emeron Journal to disseminate intellectual output on the Judiciary
- 1997: Start of the Ji-Paraná Unit’s activities, in partnership with CEULJI/ULBRA
- 2004: Revitalization with the creation of the National School for the Training of Judges (ENFAM)
- 2008: Pioneering the first Professional Master’s within Brazil’s Judiciary, in partnership with FGV
- 2011: Accreditation for Higher Education, becoming the first Government School in Rondônia with this authorization
Current activities
Emeron offers training in in-person, hybrid, and distance-learning formats, including:
- Initial and continuing training courses for judges
- Training for court staff
- Specialization and master’s programs in areas such as management, human rights, and psychology
- Research and outreach activities
In nearly 40 years of existence, the School has established itself as a reference institution in legal education, fulfilling its mission to promote the growth of the judicial system through education.
